Flights: Flying around the Philippines is the fastest way but most expensive but definitely affordable when booking in advanced. IF your on a long 6+ month backpacking trip, then you'd probably opt for the buses and boats to make the coin last longer.
Buses & air con mini vans: To travel by land you'l be alternating between major bus routes and mini vans. Mini vans are quicker but more expensive then the buses. These bus routes run on major islands like Manilla, Cebu, Palawan, Bohol
Tuk tuk : is what you'll get when travelling between ports, airports and bus stations to your accommodation for instance. Cheap & fun
Boats: Lots of boats leaving island to other islands destinations
Scooters: Can be hired. Be safe a lot of accidents and helmets are hard to find. Crazy road traffic and driving in the Philippines
